It is official! Sarah Wayne Callies will return for the revival of Prison Break on Fox Channel. The 38 years old actress is currently playing Katie Bowman in Colony (Universal Cable Productions). She will reprise her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi opposite Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller who play Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield respectively.

The new series will pick-up from Scofield's death as shown in the final episode of Season 4 in May 2009. With a new husband, Sara is shown raising her child with Michael, apparently trying to move on from the devastating death of Scofield. As soon as she gets hints that Scofield may still be alive, Tancredi teams up with Scofield's brother to strategize the show's most brilliant prison escape ever.

Although there have been no official announcement about the complete cast, sources say most of the characters from the original series are set to join the three main stars in the new series. Newcomers, however, are said to be joining the original cast such as Steve Mouzakis, Rice Yune, and Augustus Prew.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Callies mentioned that since the upcoming Prison Break revival casting came after her role in The Walking Dead, no conflict in her schedule shall arise. With Colony, however, a schedule clash has already been foreseen, and a talk between Fox and UCP is reportedly to be already undeerway.

Paul Scheuring, scriptwriter of the original series will also pen the new show and will co-produce it with Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz. The show is expected to run within 2016 to 2017 but no specific date has been given for its release.
