Qualcomm China’s Investment to Continuously Expand; New Gadgets Set to Create Huge Demands

Qualcomm China is expected to continuously expand in the country as it is set to talk with its Chinese partners relative to grabbing every opportunity that it has not taken advantage of yet.

Qualcomm, an American semiconductor company, has been known to having maintained operations in different countries.

In an interview with China Daily, Qualcomm China chairperson Frank Meng revealed that with the advent of Internet of Things, which will see the inter-connectivity among various things like gadgets and vehicles via the internet, the company is committed to towards pouring in more investments.

"Well, 'keep investing in China' has been a major strategy for us," the 56-year-old executive stated. "Qualcomm will work with its Chinese partners to seize opportunities that do not even exist today."

Furthermore, Meng disclosed that the country is bound to experience the "next big thing" considering its apparent advancement in information technology industry.

"New gadgets such as drones and inter-connected smart home devices are set to create exciting demand just as smartphones did a few years ago," Meng said.

The Qualcomm China's leader continued by saying that innovations in consumer electronics in the country will propel growth especially that its tech industry is showing preparedness for the "China-centric" and "China-first" opportunities.

"About 30 years ago, Japan used to lead growth of camera and other consumer electronics because of its huge domestic demand," Meng pointed out. "China is at a similar flashpoint now."

"The market cannot just wait for technology breakthroughs imported by overseas companies," the business executive of Qualcomm China explained. "Instead, local players are coming up with gigantic amount of ideas that suit Chinese customers' requirement."
