Chinese new magnate Victor Li Tzar-kuoi “almost bought the whole UK”

Recently, Chinese new magnate Victor Li Tzar-kuoi acquired the British natural gas supplier Wales & West Utilities (WWU) with HKD 7.75 billion ($999.59 USD). He will control a third of British natural gas market in the future. Previously, Victor Li Tzar-kuoi has acquired British electrical grid and British water supply system. British media said about the Chinese new magnate that he "almost bought the whole UK".

Victor Li Tzar-kuoi is a Hong Kong businessman, served as Vice-chairman and Managing director of Cheung Kong Holdings. Cheung Kong Holdings is one of the largest developers of residential, office, retail, industrial and hotel properties in Hong Kong. With its long history of property development expertise and residential estates, Cheung Kong Holdings has built many of Hong Kong's most notable landmark buildings and complexes.
Victor Li Tzar-kuoi is the elder son of tycoon Li Ka-shing, who was once considered to be the richest person in Asia. After Li Tzar-kuoi inherited the family's assets from his father, he has had a net worth of HK $ 290 billion by now. Li Tzar-kuoi quickly vaults to the richest man in China.
Wales & West Utilities (WWU) operates the gas distribution network of the National Transmission System in the Wales and South West England regions of the United Kingdom. It is one of the top eight natural gas suppliers in Britain and has established a leading position in both Wales and southwest England. It is mainly engaged in the management of natural gas transportation assets, the transportation of natural gas and natural gas meter-related service. It has covered one sixth of the British land, with user size hitting 7.4 million households.
