Todd Palin, husband of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, sustained serious injuries in a snow mobile accident on Sunday. As a result, Sarah Palin cancelled her planned campaign appearance with U.S. Presidential Candidate Donald Trump on Monday. The announcement came after Trump's campaign team revealed that Palin's noontime appearance at The Village in Florida on Monday will not push through.

Todd, 51, is an oil field operator and fisherman. He has been admitted in the intensive care of an Alaska hospital. He suffered from multiple serious injuries such as broken ribs, a broken shoulder blade and collarbone, knee and leg injuries and a collapsed lung, Palin revealed on her social media account.

Jim, father of Todd Palin, revealed that the 'freak accident' happened on Sunday night approximately 70 miles north of Wasilla, Palin's hometown.

Jim, who splits his time between California and Alaska, intends to return to Alaska by the end of the month to visit his son.

Sarah Palin gave an update that her husband will be going back to surgery to have the multiple fractures repaired.

She described her husband as someone tough, joking that once he becomes 'cognizant', he will ask doctors to 'duct tape him up' and call it 'good'.

Sarah Palin has returned to her home to ne with her husband. However, she has vowed to return to the campaign trail as soon as her husband recovers. The former Alaska governor also thanked supporters for their support, adding that she appreciates their respect for the privacy of her family.

Todd Palin is an avid snowmobile racer and won numerous awards in the annual Iron Dog snowmobile competition. Todd was dubbed by the Alaskans during Sarah Palin's term as the 'first dude.'
