A stunning Sofia Vergara arrived solo at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards because as the "Modern Family" actress joked, her actor-boyfriend, Joe Manganiello, is just too sexy to be with her on the red carpet.

"He's really hot, that's why I didn't bring him. He's too hot, too tall, he takes up a lot of space, so I'm like, 'Listen, Joe, please don't come.' Too handsome, too sexy," the actress laughed.

The 42-year old actress and the 37-year old actor, who have been dating for over two months, met each other in May during the White House Correspondents Dinner. At that time, Vergara was still engaged to then-fiancé Nick Loeb.

The celebrity couple only started dating after Vergara broke off her engagement.

Vergara had gushed about her "True Blood" love, saying that they have a lot of fun and that he's very funny and sweet guy.

The actress isn't the only one in awe of the actor. Manganiello is also very vocal about his feelings about Vergara, especially about her voluptuous figure and booty.

Manganiello even admitted to checking her derriere at the White House Correspondents Dinner. The actor admitted that even though he was attracted to her, she had a boyfriend then and he didn't want to start trouble.

"C'mon you can't put that in front of me. What am I supposed to do? I'm not going to apologise. I totally got busted. That was actually funny when we first started dating, months after that," Manganiello shared with E! News.

In a very odd and rather sexist and racist display during the Emmys, Vergara was placed on a rotating pedestal as the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences President Bruce Rosenblum spoke about the Academy's mission and the importance of giving people something to watch.

Vergara then asked aloud if this was how things are done in America.
