Iraqi security officials said that a car bomb exploded in the capital’s New Baghdad district, leaving 10 people dead and 34 wounded on Tuesday.
Reports said the bombing took place during the morning rush hour in Jadida district, the busy Shia area of Baghdad, when a car armed with explosives blew up near the outdoor market.

The Iraqi capital blast happened a day after a suicide bomber set off explosives on a Shiite mosque in the same neighborhood that killed 15 worshippers.
According to reports, a series of attacks had occurred in several cities of Baghdad over the weekend, including the shooting in a Sunni mosque that killed at least 73 people.
The Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for the mosque and Utaifiya attack on Monday.
However, the authenticity of the statement could not be verified, although it was posted on the militant’s website.
Because of the increasing levels of violence in Shia areas, Iraq's newly appointed Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi urged numerous Iraqi fighter groups to come under the government control instead of acting independently from the Iraqi government, some reports confirmed.
Based on some sources, the conflict between Shia and Sunni groups became worse after the Islamic State militants and Sunni insurgents took over some areas in the western and northern part of Iraq.
Last June, the insurgents took over Mosul, the Iraq's second-largest city, and Tikrit along with other small towns and villages in the region, some reports said.
