Apple's latest cheap smart phone - the iPhone SE - was launched on Monday alongside new versions of the iPad and iWatch. While deliveries and purchases for these devices start on March 31, pre-orders are set to start as early as Thursday, March 24.

The iPhone SE comes in 16 and 32 GB versions, with a 12 mega pixels iSight camera and a 64 bit A9 processor chip that gives faster and better performance.

The iPhone SE comes with a similar display resolution to its predecessor - the iPhone 5s - with 1,136 x 640 pixels that techinically averages at 326 PPI (pixels per inch). This figure offers the same concentration as that of the iPhone 6s, so for people who adore the greatness of 6s and yet wish for a more compact and much smaller phone, iPhone SE is a perfect option.

The iPhone SE, however, does not have the 3D Touch feature that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus have. This feature enables the device to differentiate between a light press from a firm tap, which lets users have full control of their apps depending on how soft or hard they press their iPhone's screen.

The iPhone SE, like Apple's 6 series smartphones, will also come in four colors - rose gold, silver, space gray, and gold. Its battery life is expected to last for a talk time of 14 hours, four hours longer than the iPhone 5s; and a browsing time if up to 13 hours, one hour longer than the iPhone 6 series.

The iPhone SE is somewhat a replica of the iPhone 5s and ultimately its replacement in the market. This is Apple's second attempt to launch a cheaper smartphone following the release of iPhone 5c in 2013. The model, however, was not a big hit so the tech mogul eventually decided to stop manufacturing it.
