Wanted by Police: Oregon Authorities Await Miley Cyrus’ Homeless VMAs Date Jesse Helt for His Arrest

Last August 24, Miley Cyrus brought in a big surprise when she came to the Video Music Awards with a homeless man as her date. Jesse Helt accepted the Video of the Year Award on behalf of the "Wrecking Ball" singer.
Cyrus reportedly paid all the expenses for Helt's plane ticket back to the city of Salem in Oregon, where he will see his mother again after three years.

However, such happy ending may be curbed for a while as Cyrus' pal and VMAs date has reportedly been running from Salem authorities after violation of his probation.
A warrant of arrest has been issued by an Oregon judge in 2011 after Helt breached his probation several times. This suggests that Helt could be detained and arrested as soon as the 22-year-old arrives in his hometown.
Burglary, criminal mischief (third degree), and criminal trespass (first degree) were among the charges filed against Helt in October of 2010. He allegedly trespassed in an apartment where he bought "bad marijuana." Dismissal of the burglary charge had followed.
A month later, Helt had been sentenced to one month in county jail and underwent supervised probation for one year. He also had to pay up a total of $572 for fines and was ordered to also pay for restitution. In July and August 2011, on two separate accounts, Helt was charged with probation violations.
"He still has an outstanding warrant," Jon Troike, a local judicial services specialist said. "If he's contacted by the police in Oregon he would be arrested."
Last August 25, Helt took his flight home from Los Angeles to Oregon, thanks to Cyrus' generosity.
Helt told MailOnline that he had been "glad" to come back home. "I miss my mom, I haven't seen her in three years," the 22-year-old said. "I've been suffering since I was the age of 13, but I'm glad to be back home."
His touching speech at the VMAs was centered on homeless youths and runaway people, moving the audience to tears and giving the troubled man a chance to change his path to life.
