It was in July 16, 2013 when a child was born in Fuping Maternal and Child Healthcare Hospital. An obstetrician, Dr. Zhang, has informed the parents that the baby has a congenital disease and so extensive treatment is needed to be done. The parents, convinced of the doctor telling the truth, entrusted their baby to the doctor.

A day after that, Dr. Zhang has sold the baby for an amount of 21,600 yuan to two suspects, who sold it to another buyer at a price of 30,000 yuan, as China Daily reported. The parents, knowing that their child was missing, reported the case to the police on July 20, 2013.
Finally, after long search and investigation, the baby is now found in the neighboring Henan on Sunday. However, there is no information yet on whom the baby was sold to.
The three suspects are now arrested: the maternity doctor, a woman and a man. They are arrested for human trafficking and selling of the infant. The case is now under development and a verdict is on its way to give justice to the baby and the parents.
The baby still has to undergo DNA test in order to determine the true identity. When the identity is determined, it will be returned to the birth parents.
This event is just one of the five cases that the Chinese police is currently investigating. Apparently, there are similar cases that are being examined, all happened in the same health care facility.
Some experts believe that this is the effect of China's one-child policy, having a strong preference of having a boy infant.
Human trafficking is a serious case that has caused a global scare. Other countries also experience this kind of crime and so this is just a case to warn the public about being careful in trusting care to the children.
