Sarah Silverman kept the entertainment levels high at the 66^th Emmy Awards as she showed a vape pen that she claimed is filled with "liquid pot" on the red carpet last Monday.

She did insist that she was not high at the time that she accepted her trophy.

The actress' liquid weed was revealed when Giuliana Rancic of E! began rummaging around in Silverman's tiny gold bag for the network's "clutch cam" as part of the "mani cam", providing viewers with a more detailed look at celebrities' nails and accessories.

Upon taking the bag, Rancic asked the actress if she could have a peep.

"Can I look in it?," the E! host asked. "I can't believe you're letting me look in it."

Rancic first found a cellphone covered with an American flag-themed casing; Silverman then snatched and put on display a sleek vape pen.

The Emmy award winner started explaining that the pen held her pot, particularly "liquid pot."

With Rancic looking uncertain whether Silverman had only been kidding or whether their network will find liquid weed to be amusing, she merely responded with: "OK, moving on..."

That short incident did not make the cut on E!'s set of mani- and clutch-cam moments, although the comedian's statement about her untouched nails was included.

"These are working hands", Silverman said, referring to the absence of manicure on her nails.

Nonetheless, the E! website mentioned the actress flashing the vape pen along with her stunning dress that boldly displayed her chest.

After raking in an award for her variety special, "Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles", the stand-up comedian was asked about her vape pen and liquid substance by backstage reporters.

"I had pot for later in my purse," Silverman responded. "It's legal and I don't drink. I like to have a puff as a treat at appropriate times."

Later in the evening, a TMZ cameraman also got hold of the actress who basically said the same statement: "I like to have a little pop-a-roonie end of night, when all is said and done, because I'm a grown woman."
