Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson Bag NBA Players of the Week Award

All-Stars LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors on Monday received the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week award respectively for matches played between March 21st and 27th.

Four-time league MVP James aided the 2015 Eastern Conference champions to a 3-1 week while averaging 29.0 points (the first in the East) 8.8 assists (the conference second-best) and 8.5 rebounds.

The Cavaliers superstar closed the week with triple-doubles in victories over the Denver Nuggets on March 21 and on March 26 against the New York Knicks. James poured in 25-plus points, grabbed five or more boards and dished out five or more assists in of the four games Cleveland  played during the week.

James' Cavaliers are currently at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 52-21 record and are the third overall leading team in the league this season.

The 2016 NBA All-Star Three-Point King led the defending champions to a perfect 4-2 week while averaging 32.3 points, which is an NBA-best. Thompson shot 62.2 percent (connecting 28 for 45) from long distance and hit at least five treys in each of the Warriors' four games.

The other half of the Dub's Splash Brothers capped the week with back-to-back 40-point game productions in conquering the Dallas Mavericks, where he made nine three-pointers, on March 25th and against the Philadelphia 76er 27th of March.

Thompson's Warriors are currently the NBA's top and leading club for the 2015-16 regular season with 66 victories with just 7 defeats.

Other nominees for the NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta Hawks' Paul Millsap, Boston Celtics' Isaiah Thomas, Charlotte Hornets' Nicolas Batum, Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki, Detroit Pistons' Andre Drummond, Indiana Pacers' Ian Mahinmi, the Los Angeles Clippers' DeAndre Jordan, Miami Heats' Hassan Whiteside, New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony, and Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.
