Kevin Love Hits Back at Remarks of T'Wolves Owner

Blame the outburst to emotions "running high."

In response to Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor's remarks exposing Kevin Love's defensive liabilities now that he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers, Love says "I think emotions are definitely running high right now."

"He should be focusing on the players that he just received," added Love.

The All-Star Love was talking about Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennette, two first overall NBA Draft picks from 2013 and last year, and also 76ers' power forward Thaddeus Young who was recently traded to Minnesota.

Taylor said that Love poses a liability to the Cavaliers for he lacks in defense and is also injury prone, missing most of the 2012-2013 NBA season due to a broken hand.

"He got away with some stuff not playing defense in our team," Taylor said. "I would guess they're going to ask him to play more defense and he's foul-prone."

Love and Taylor had a good relationship during his six-year stay with the Wolves and Taylor even stated that he wanted Love to stay and win with the team.

Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban said that he understands how any owner can make a mistake in blurting out belittling remarks against an outgoing player.

"We're competitive too. I would compare my competitive nature to any athlete in the world," Cuban said in a radio interview.

For Love's part, he stayed with Minnesota for six years and they haven't even made the playoffs. It's high time for the 25-year-old to think more about his chances of becoming an NBA champion and a call from no other than former Team USA teammate, LeBron James, is just the ticket he needs.

Love will eventually leave the team regardless whether it's this year or next year when he can opt out of his contract.

"I'm just excited to start my time in Cleveland," Love said. "Get to work with my new teammates and start with this new family here."
