Chinese smartphone maker Vivo Electronics has officially launched two new smartphones in the Chinese market, called the vivo X6S and the vivo X6S Plus. These handsets are the new successors to the vivo X6 and vivo X6 Plus that were launched in December 2015.

The vivo X6S comes with a price of around US$400, while the vivo X6S Plus costs about US$470. These devices will begin shipping on Apr. 5.

In terms of the specifications, the vivo X6S is the smaller version featuring a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display screen with a 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution (Full HD). This device measures 147.9 x 73.8 x 6.7 mm in dimensions and weighs about 140.5 grams, which is 32 grams lighter than the larger version.

The vivo X6S has 13 megapixel camera on the front and an 8 megapixel camera on the back. Inside, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 chipset, and has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory storage and a 2,400 mAh battery with fast charging capability. Other specs include a fingerprint sensor, support for LTE connectivity and an AKM4375 32-bit DAC audio hardware.

The vivo X6S Plus, on the other hand, measures 158.4 x 80.1 x 6.9 mm and weighs 172.5 grams. It has a 5.7-inch phablet size Super AMOLED display screen with a 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution (Full HD) as well. This device features a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8 megapixel front-facing shooter.

Under the hood, the vivo X6S Plus is powered by the same Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 processor, and has the same 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in memory as the other model. In addition, this version packs a larger 3,000 mAh battery and also has a fingerprint reader and supports LTE connectivity. Unlike the other model, the X6S Plus is equipped with an ES9028 DAC in a YAMAHA YSS-205X audio processor, which is also being used on the vivo X5Max.

Both devices come with the Android 5.1 Lollipop version operating system out of the box, along with the Funtouch OS on top. Like their predecessors, the vivo X6S and vivo X6S Plus are available in silver, gold or Rose gold colors.
