In a series of Tweets on Friday, just a day after her Saint Laurent ad campaign broke out on social media, model-actress Cara Delevingne openly talks about her depression struggle over modeling and further clarifies that although the fashion world has taken its toll on her, she is not quitting it anytime soon.

"Can we just set the record straight... I never said I was quitting modeling. I suffer from depression and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self hatred. I do not blame the fashion industry for anything, " said Delevingne in her Tweets.

This is after rumors sparked that Delevingne is now choosing to focus on films alone and quitting the fashion industry forever as apparent with ongoing and upcoming movie projects.

To date, she has already done about seven films (Anna Karenina, The Face of an Angel, Pan, and Paper Towns, among others), not yet including the three others she is currently working on.

The 23-year-old Brit native has always been open about fighting mental and psychological woes during her younger years. She revealed to Vogue in an interview on June 2015 how depression struck her without warning and how it had been painful for her and for her family to overcome it.

She recalled having to slam her head against a tree over and over just so she could knock herself out and be temporary oblivious of the pain she was feeling.

She also admitted that although there were no cuts involved, she still faced a moment of bleeding when she would relentlessly scratch herself out of self-hatred. She added that she merely wanted someone to "sweep her away" but to no avail.

In another interview with Rupert Everett where Delevingne was a guest at the Women in the World Summit, she spoke of how modeling seemed to have tarnished her personality.

She mentioned how she wanted death more than anything else and how she underwent a series of treatment for psoriasis. She added that all she ever wanted was for someone to stop her, but unfortunately, nobody did.

Delavingne ended her Tweets saying that she will now focus more on her acting prowess to discover herself better.

"I am focusing on filming and trying to learn how to not pick apart my every flaw. I am really good at that."
