Ed Sheeran Speaks Up About Miley Cyrus Calling Him An A***Hole: No High-Fives For People He Hasn't Met

It all first started with the lip-reading that was televised all over the world as cameras caught Miley Cyrus supposedly calling Ed Sheeran an "asshole". This happened at the 2014 VMAs as the British singer walked towards the stage for the acceptance of his trophy for Best Male Video last August 24.

After the incident, rumors have surfaced that there is a supposed beef between Cyrus and Sheeran.

While guesting on Ryan Seacrest's radio show last Thursday, the 23-year-old musician, who previously referred to the "Wrecking Ball" singer's twerking as a "stripper's move", had the chance to open up about what went on during the awards night.

"Well, I don't know why people were expecting [a high-five]. I've never met her," Sheeran admitted, talking about not interacting with the 21-year-old Cyrus as he approached the stage. "There was a high-five between me and Scooter Braun because I know him, and that was the only high-five. I don't know what people we're expecting."

In his music career, the Grammy award-winning musician has already worked with a couple of A-list singers, including One Direction and Taylor Swift.

When asked whether he would want a collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter, Sheeran commented that he thought of her as a "fantastic artist."

"She's got a great voice and writes great songs," he said.

In 2013, the "Lego House" singer was interviewed by The Mirror to which he praised Cyrus for her musical abilities. On the other hand, he criticized her for the way she presents herself to her audience and the larger society, sparking up rumors that the two singers had been having a feud.

"If I had a daughter of mine, I wouldn't want her twerking," Sheeran insisted during the interview. "When I first heard 'Wrecking Ball,' I thought it was a brilliant song. But the video distracts too much from it."
