The cast and crew of the upcoming fifth installment in Disney's 'Pirates of the Caribbean' cinematic series will be filming additional scenes in Canada long after principal photography wrapped in July 2015.
Principal photography began exclusively in Australia in February 2015 under directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. Additional filming reportedly commenced on March 24 and will end on April 13 under the working title 'Herschel Additional Photography'.
According to Vancouver Sun, development for 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' has been plagued by controversy and delays since its announcement.
Lead actor Johnny Depp reportedly caused quite a stir in Australia when he and his wife Amber Heard were accused of importing dogs via a private jet. Production was also delayed when Depp had to be flown back to the United States following an injury on the filming set in March 2015.
Meanwhile, Sir Paul McCartney is set to make an appearance on the new film in an unnamed role. According to Vancity Buzz, the legendary musician and former Beatles member has signed on to star alongside Depp in a major extra scene for 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5.'
McCartney is the second major musician to appear in the series after Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones made a cameo as Jack Sparrow's father in 2007s 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.'
'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' is directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. It stars Depp, Orlando Bloom, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites and Javier Bardem.
