'Kong: Skull Island' is an upcoming action-adventure and monster film featuring Tom Hiddleston in the lead role. It may introduce more giant creatures into the franchise.
According to Coming Soon, new creatures have been added to Universal Studios' latest theme park attraction called Skull Island: Reign of King Kong. The new set features exotic landscapes as well as prehistoric creatures never-before-seen in any film adaptation in the cinematic series.

The photographs revealed menacing insects, dinosaurs and arachnids including the giant Arachno-claw, the slug-like Carnictis, the Decarnocimex, the Terapusmordax, and the Vastatosaurus Rex. It is yet unknown whether these creatures will make it on Jordan Vogt-Roberts' upcoming adventure-fantasy film intended to be a reboot of the classic 'King Kong' franchise.
Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston has expressed his excitement over 'Kong: Skull Island' despite keeping details for the upcoming film vague. According to the Dread Central, the 35-year old English actor is set to play a yet unnamed main protagonist and will star alongside Brie Larson, John Goodman, Samuel L. Jackson and Toby Kebbell.
Hiddleston said, "Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who directed it, had this extraordinary idea... I don't want to spoil too much... But it's a whole new re-conception of the mythology... It's going to be spectacular and epic but also the human drama is kind of interesting as well."
The new film, which is currently in post-production, is set to follow a group of explorers and soldiers on a mission to travel to a mysterious island in the South Pacific known to be the home of the gigantic gorilla named Kong. Unlike its predecessors, the film will be set in the modern day.
Vogt-Roberts' reboot is part of a planned cinematic universe of under Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. A planned film pitting King Kong against another iconic monster, Godzilla, is set to be released in 2020.
Peter Jackson of 'Lord the Rings' fame attempted to reimagine the 'King Kong' franchise in the epic-monster film starring Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Andy Serkis and Adrien Brody. The film released in 2005 earned $550 million against a $207 budget but reportedly performed lower than expected.
'Kong: Skull Island' is an upcoming action-adventure and monster film directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts with a screenplay by Max Borenstein, Derek Connolly, John Gatins and Dan Gilroy. It is set to premiere in U.S. theaters on March 10, 2017.
