According to Den of Geek, the 25th installment in the 'James Bond' cinematic franchise intends to incorporate the latest world threats. It is speculated to tackle problems such as cyber warfare and global banking.
Gregg Wilson of EON Productions explained, "We've just begun to doodle with ideas for the next movie... Each script process begins when we ask ourselves the question 'what is the world afraid of now?' In the case of Spectre the theme was global monitoring and utilisation of information. So now we are trying to find out what will be relevant in the coming years".
Wilson added that the studio intends to create a film unlike its predecessors and aims to put the titular character in situations that are novel to the franchise. He said, "Often it helps to go back to Ian Fleming's novels for inspiration, whether you're talking about grades or mood".
The James Bond film series are based on Fleming's fictional British Secret Service agent James Bond, who originally appeared in the series of books published from the 1950s through the 1960s.
The titular character was first portrayed on the big screen by Sean Connery in Terence Young's 1962 release 'Dr. No'. Other notable actors who took on the role of 007 include George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, David Niven and Pierce Brosnan.
Daniel Craig is the latest actor to portray James Bond. Craig was first introduced as the newest version of the British spy in Martin Campell's 2006 release 'Casino Royale'. He went on to work on succeeding sequels 'Quantum of Solace', 'Skyfall' and 'Spectre'.
According to the Independent, Craig had been vocal about not intending to reprise his role in future films in the franchise but his representative has said that the actor is not planning to quit just yet. It was previously reported that Craig may be too busy to return for a fifth time since he has conflicting obligations with other projects.
Meanwhile, IGN reported that Tom Hiddleston expressed his interest in playing James Bond should an opportunity present itself. The British actor said, "I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing... If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I'm very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly."
'James Bond 25' is a planned installment in the long-running cinematic series following the adventures of the titular British Secret Service spy. No further details have been released as of the present.
