Authorities are now investigating a car crash that occurred last Saturday in Cathedral City, California, leaving Paris Hilton's brother with several injuries.

While The Desert Sun claims that the police are describing his injuries as "major," TMZ has reported that the socialite's brother has suffered just a hand fracture and a couple of "cuts and bruises."

Conrad Hilton, the hotel heiress' youngest sibling, had been admitted to Desert Regional Medical Hospital after crashing his BMW on the eastbound 10 Freeway west of Date Palm Drive.

Based on the reports of the California Highway Patrol, Hilton's vehicle had been moving at a high speed when the Beverly Hills resident attempted to switch lanes, hitting the rear of a Volkswagen Beetle.

With the crash bringing on a strong impact, the reality TV starlet's brother and the driver of the Volkswagen lost control.

Consequently, the 19-year-old further crashed into a semi-tractor trailer and swerved off the roadway.  

Hilton got trapped inside his BMW and was rescued when firefighters made use of extrication tools.

Aside from Hilton, no other individual, including the Volkswagen's driver, had sustained injuries.

In their official statement, CHP authorities further reported that alcohol and drugs were not a cause of the collision. However, an officer reported that Hilton was speeding and that "several motorists called him in for reckless driving."

This has not been Hilton's run-in with the law when it comes to vehicles. In 2011, his car collided into two parked vehicles after partying in West Hollywood.

He was also arrested for having positive drug results for cannabis in 2012, which had reportedly been a violation of his probation's terms for a marijuana arrest in the past.

Meanwhile, older sister Paris has carried on with being an international DJ in Ibiza. The socialite has taken to Instagram and posted several pictures from the party central since her brother's car crash.
