Taiwanese actor Chen Bo-Lin celebrated his 31st  birthday recently while keeping it simple with a rather low-profile celebration.

According to media reports, Chen spent his birthday working and only posted a photo of himself on Weibo showing him dressed in simple clothes and making his birthday wish in front of a cake which had the words 'love and peace' written on top of it.

He had captioned the photo, "I wish the best for everyone and for the world. Thanks everyone for the concern."

The Taiwanese actor had been recently embroiled in the scandal which involved Jackie Chan's only son, Jaycee Chan, and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko. He had been pulled into the scandal due to the fact that he was a close friend of the two artists.

The investigations that the Beijing authorities conducted has come a conclusion that there were over a hundred celebrities from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan who are drug users. Chen's name came up on the investigator's list.

According to reports, the "In Time with You" star has been implicated in the scandal as he was cited to have been coming to Chan's parties in his Beijing apartment often.

Ko,  Chan and Chen Bo Lin were widely known to be close friends and were often referred to as 'the three musketeers'. They have also been spotted hanging out together numerous times in clubs.

However, the day Jaycee Chan and Kai Ko were arrested, Chen Bo Lin was at a fan meeting in Beijing and didn't even have a clue of what has been going on.

Despite the rumors that he is also a drug user, Chen, and his managing company, have firmly denied this. The actor was said to have had a traumatic experience involving drugs in the past and though he had been aware of the fact that his two friends were using marijuana, he claimed that he hated drugs and that he didn't play any part in their recent feat.

Supporters of the actor had been leaving comments on his Weibo post, asking after him and expressing their hopes for him not to do things that would disappoint the public.
