Archos Unveils Windows 8.1 Tablet and Smartphone at IFA 2014

Archos recently teamed up with Microsoft to launch a series of budget-friendly tablets and smartphones that run Windows 8.1.
Archos is a French electronics maker that produces portable media players and portable data storage devices.
The French consumer electronics company plans to unveil the latest versions of their mobile devices at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany. It will include Window Phone tablets and smartphones.

The company will offer a Window smartphone called Archos 40 Cesium for US$99.
The Archos 40 Cesium features a 4-inch IPS screen offering 1,280 x 800 resolution. It will run under Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Quad Core processor. It's the same processor being used for low-end Lumi 530, too.
The Archos 80 Cesium tablet comes in black, yellow and blue.
The company's 80 Cesium tablet costs US$149 with an 8-inch display and a resolution of 1280x800. It features an Intel Quad Core processor.
"Our upcoming line-up of consumer products delivers amazing performance, superior design and impressive affordability. We are committed to making technology universally available and are proud to shape the market by providing high quality, yet attainable devices," said Loic Poirie, Archos CEO.
Its 40 Cesium smartphone will be launched sometime in September while the 80 Cesium tablet will have an October launch.
The company prides itself for being an early adopter of cutting-edge technology.
Its Archos 9 PC tablet in 2009 that runs Windows 7 was so successful Archos decided to release the 40 Cesium smartphone and 80 Cesium tablet under Microsoft's OS again.
