Charlotte Hornets player Jeremy Lin seems to be reviving his Linsanity days as the point guard locked in 25 points coupled with five steals during the team's Monday match-up against Boston Celtics. The former LA Lakers' player is the first in the NBA this season to generate such numbers coming off the bench.

Lin was a scoring machine during the first half of the game as he scored 21 of the 25 points he generated. The point guard even made a run in a span of 1 minute and 41 seconds where he landed 11 straight points. By the end of four quarters, he had given five assists and seven rebounds.

The game ended with a victory for the Hornets, 114-100.

Kemba Walker scored 18 points, while Al Jefferson and Marvin Williams both chipped in 16 points each. On the other hand, Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley were the score leaders for Celtics with each garnering 17 points.

Speaking after the match, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens acknowledged that their opponent's defense was the key in clinching the win.

"We laid an eight-minute egg at the end of the second quarter and we just couldn't overcome it," Stevens said, according to SB Nation. "We tried to dribble through traffic and it was like we were driving through 5 guys and 10 arms."

Jeremy Lin's performance, which was somewhat reminiscent of the Linsanity era when he was still with the New York Knicks, has placed him as a frontrunner for the Sixth Man of the Year award. His contribution to the Charlotte Hornets, especially his improved defense, has made a big impact on the team although this is still his first year with them.
