Lawrence Ng Over the Years: Leading Man Talks Favorite Roles

Hong Kong actor Lawrence Ng is known to be one of the most versatile actors in the industry who easily capture's the public' attention due to the variety, and quality, of roles he portrays.
Ng graduated from Hong Kong TVB's acting program in 1982. He has been featured in numerous drama and film productions, but his most memorable roles are surely that of his villain performances.

Ng, 50, starred in the 1998 drama "Healing Hands" and sequels in 2000 and 2005. Known for his role as Dr, Paul Ching in the production, he portrayied the character of an intelligent and caring man. Through those times, he has maintained a positive image on screen.
So identified with the "Healing Hands" role, people refer to the actor by the name of his character whenever he walks down the streets of Hong Kong, reports say.
On the other hand, Ng has shown a wide range of portraiture. He first played a villain role in "The Feud of Two Brothers." His role in that production was dubbed 'hateful', as it was one of the most convincing roles Ng is credited with performing.
Ng returned to the small screen last year on the 30-episode TVB drama "Hippocratic Crush II," also known by its Chinese title, "On Call 36 Hours II," another medical drama. He played the role of a pathology specialist In that show.
The actor said he preferred playing the role of a protagonist over the role of the villain. He revealed that his role opposite Carmen Lee in "Never Dance Alone" was one of his favorites. that show aired from April to June this year.
Sharing his thoughts on an actor's career, Ng said it's an ever-changing path. And although he has played eveything from villain to hero in different production, it doesn't change the fact that the actor is convincing in whatever role the production team wants him to portray.
Ng latest effort is a starring role as a senior officer in "Battle of Tomorrow," a 20-episode prison drama filmed in Hong Kong's prisons. The TVB show has been heavily promoted, but hasn't yet aired. Reports also have Ng performing and signing autographs next month in Canada.
