Two Republican party groups commissioned a major poll survey revealed that female voters view the GOP and its candidates as "intolerant and lacking in compassion" in recognizing women's agenda and gender differences.

The report, titled Republicans and Women Voters: Huge Challenges, Real Opportunities, targeted 800 registered female voters in the Northeast and the Midwest. Public Opinion Strategies and Axis Research, two of the country's leading public opinion research firms, conducted the study during the summer and the results of which were first made public by POLITICO.

Dan Conston, spokesperson for American Action Network, seconded that understanding women's rights is a delicate matter. He said conservatives need to exert more effort in formulating policies that best engage women and giving them more opportunities.

Though Republicans had stable performance this year after Mitt Romney's fallout in 2012, experts say that the results of the GOP poll suggest a difficult vantage point for the party to gain majority of seats in the House and Senate.

The experts added that the challenge to conservatives is much harder now that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is planning to run the for presidency.

Members of the Republican slate who have been briefed about the result of the survey said they were not surprised of the outcome. Forty-nine percent of the respondents view Republicans unfavorably while 39 percent of the solicited female voters are opposed to Democrats.

According to Paul Lindsey, spokesman for Crossroads GPS, a number of House representatives are willing to discuss issues surrounding women's rights. The issues include disagreement on abortion and creation of policy solutions that would inspire female voters to alter their perspective towards GOP.

The Republicans have a long difficult history of gaining sympathy among female voters despite efforts from the House of Representatives. An example is Majority Leader Eric Cantor's proposals that deal with chartered school and flexible work schedules.

When asked about what policies appeal most to them, the female respondents answered affordable healthcare, equal pay for equal work and strengthen laws against gender bias in the workplace.

Katie Packer Gage, a political expert working on improving GOP standing among female populations, said that female voters would think of "old, white, right, out of touch" men in association with the Republican members.
