Debby Ryan, best known for starring in the Disney Channel series Jessie, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a car accident in Los Angeles last week.

The 22-year-old was driving around in Los Angeles on April 5 at approximately 11 p.m. when she slammed her Audi into a Mercedes, reportedly resulting in the injury of a passenger seated in the vehicle.

Police arrived at the scene of the crash and carried out field sobriety and breathalyzer test which measured Ryan's blood alcohol level at 0.11%, way above the permissible limit of 0.08%. Ryan, who is currently out on a $100,000 bail, was placed under arrest and and was eventually charged with misdemeanor drunk driving.

Ryan rose to fame after Jessie, in which she played the lead role of Jessie Prescott, a nanny who takes care of four children of a wealthy New York City family, since its premiere in 2011 up until it's end in 2005.

Before Jessie, Ryan portrayed the character of Bailey Pickett in another Disney Channel's show The Suite Life on Deck. Her other credits include a recurring role on NBC's Mysteries of Laura and a 2008 feature film called The Longshots.

Following her arrest, the actress took to Twitter to apologize to her fans. "Over the last few days I have had the chance to think about my actions, and I wish I had used better judgment," she wrote. "I recognize that I am a role model and have always worked hard to set a good example for my millions of fans. I am so sorry to disappoint everyone."
