Anthony "Rumble" Johnson called out number one contender, Alexander Gustafsson, for a potential bout in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) light heavyweight division.
Johnson sent the challenge via a Facebook message, stating that it was nothing personal, just business. UFC President Dana White also endorses the match and was actually the one who suggested it.

Gustafsson had previously lost to champion Jon Jones in a grueling five round war that resulted in a very close decision. After bouncing back with a win over then undefeated Jimi Manuwa, he earned his shot at redemption with the light heavyweight champion.
However, he was forced to pull out his bout after he tore his meniscus. He was replaced by Daniel Cormier.
In an odd turn of events, Jones had also injured his knee during training, rescheduling his match with Cormier to January.
This infuriated Gustafsson, saying that if the fight were moved to January, then he should be the rightful challenger. White and the UFC refused this notion.
Gustafsson was then saying that he wanted to retain his number one contender status and wait for the winner of Jones and Cormier. White had other plans, saying that the Swede could take one more fight, possible with Johnson.
Johnson, previously a welterweight, had been release from the UFC due to his troubles cutting weight. Since then, he racked up six impressive wins outside the organization, and earned his ticket back.
Upon returning, he faced ranked Phil Davis and won via unanimous decision, thereby thrusting him into the top ten list.
His last fight was against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, where he knocked out the legendary Brazilian fighter in only 44 seconds. The fight garnered him a performance of the night award.
If Johnson were to win against Gustafsson, it could possibly throw in his name to challenge for the light heavyweight championship next.
