Despite Rafael Nadal dropping out, prices of the US Open Tickets have been oddly increasing.

The excitement and fanbase that Nadal brings has served to increase ticket sales in tournaments as experienced previously.

Just three weeks ago, there was an increasing demand for the US Open tickets, with the ticket prices rising in the secondary market. The prices began overtaking last year's prices.

However, when Nadal injured his wrist last July and has not played since he lost at Wimbledon, the ticket prices for the Men's Final began to decrease, from US$837.33 to US&773.64 per ticket. This is roughly a 7.6 percent decrease.

However, the ticket prices for the other tournament matches have begun to increase, bringing the prices up overall.

A ticket for Session I, for example, is now valued at US $141.26. It increased by at least seven percent in the span of two weeks.

The Men's Semifinal and Women's Double Finals remains the most expensive ticket, costing US $892.06.

As the tournament goes on, the prices of the tickets are sure to increase.

With Nadal out of the tournament, this gives an opportunity for new players to be crowned the new US Open champion.

The favorites like number one seed Novak Djokovic, second seed and multiply grandslam campion Roger Federer, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, Andy Murray, as well as some tough up-and-coming competition are still playing in the tournament's their round.

In the Women's division, American Serena Williams is looking to defend her US Open Championship. She is currently playing in the third round.

She is still joined by fellow female favorites, sister Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Caroline Wozniacki.
