Harrison Ford Continues Filming Star Wars: Episode VII After On-set Injury

It is just a broken leg for Harrison Ford as he is ready to come back to London's Pinewood Studios to continue filming Star Wars: Episode VII. Two months after the accident, Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm told media that a few adjustments were made but it will not hinder the release of the film.

Ford's injury happened on-set which allegedly involved Han Solo's Millennium Falcon. It led to a surgery, which put shooting of Ford's scenes on hold for two months. Star Wars fans may be familiar with The Falcon - the spacecraft that Han Solo drives as seen in the original trilogy.

Ford was seen walking along the red carpet without any help, and was even able to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in August, with the assistance of crutches.

Fans are craving for the plot but it remains to be confidential. However, it was revealed that set is 30 years beyond 1983's Return of the Jedi. The crew was reported to be filming a few scenes in Abu Dhabi, creating theories of Luke Skywalker's home planet's desert landscapes coming to life in this installment.

Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker are played by Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, which may bring nostalgia to long time Star Wars fans. They will act alongside Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew. Fresh faces are added to the team, including Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and Max von Sydow, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson.

It was announced last June that Star Wars was named as the Best Movie of All Time, followed by an announcement by Disney setting up a Star Wars attraction in their theme parks. Star Wars: Episode VII is directed by J.J. Abrams. He co-wrote the film's script with veteran Lawrence Kasdan of Lucasfilm, who succeeded its original screenwriter, Michael Arndt.

While Ford was healing, the crew worked on scenes that do not include Ford to ensure their December 18, 2015 release date announcement.
