IPL 2016 got off to a poor start for KXIP, with the David Miller-led side losing their first two games. They were first defeated by debutants Gujarat Lions last week and then trashed by a rejuvenated Delhi Daredevils on Friday. A brilliant four-wicket haul by leg spinner Amit Mishra helped DD to beat KXIP by eight wickets at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.
"It was a low-scoring game but I think we lost too many wickets in different stages which changed the momentum of the match. I think the wicket was right," Miller said after his team's second consecutive loss.
The newly drafted Rising Pune Supergiants, which defeated defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening game of IPL 2016, suffered a seven wicket loss against Gujarat Lions on Thursday. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side is now looking to regain its winning touch with a victory against struggling Kings XI Punjab.
