Kuncoro expressed joy for his win saying that "It's been a while since I won." He also added that "the scores in the first set were pretty far apart, so when it got closer in the next two sets, I just concentrated on the game to get one point at a time."

Lin, on the other hand, admitted that he was not able to give it his best. He went on to say that Koncoro was in a better condition than he was.

Lin said "He has played better than me throughout the tournament."

He added that "My performance in the first set was not good... I lost that set too quickly and it took me too long to get myself into the groove."

Kuncoro will be playing against World No. 10 Son Wan Ho of South Korea who just knocked over Angus Ng Ka Long of Hongkong, China at 22-20, 21-16.

In the men's badminton doubles, Fu Haifeng-Zhang Nan of China made it into the finals after his triumph over World no. 1 Lee Yong-Dae-Yoo Yeon-Seong of South Korea with a 21-16, 23-21. Zhang Nan will then take on Takeshi Kamura-Keigo Sonodo for the title.

In the women singles, Thai Ace Ratchanok Intanon stayed on top of her game after she surged pass Japan's Akane Yamaguchi at 21-12, 22-20 . She will be grappling for the title against Sun Yu of China.
