It had been a fiasco outside the facility and the hotel where the star was immediately brought upon his release. Media personnel gathered in a frenzy for an opportunity to see the 23-year old actor.
After being released from detention, Kai was immediately transferred to a hotel in Beijing via squad car. According to media reports, the actor, upon coming out of his car, was met by media people. In response to this Kai allegedly cursed at the reporters. The actor was taken away from the scene by his security personnel before the situation got worse.
Kai held a press conference later the same day at 2:30 PM in order to apologize for the things he did earlier. His parents and his manager, Angie Chai, attended the press conference.
"I did wrong," said Kai, breaking into tears. "There's no explanation, no reason nor excuse. I was plain wrong."
Kai also expressed his gratitude for the chances he was given to achieve his success, but also cited that it was something he shares with the people who support him.
Kai apologized for breaking the trust that the people he worked with and his supporters have given him since launching his acting career. He apologized for disappointing his fans and advised people not to do what he did.
In the press conference, Kai said his priority now is to make amends for everything that he has done and to get his act together. Kai said he has learned his lesson and will always remember.
On a side note, the actor denied blaming his friend Chan for his choice of action despite rumors the artist led him astray, being older than Kai. It was his choice and that he is willing to face the consequences, he said.
Kai will be returning to Taiwan after the press conference.
