Seven additional games have been added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list. Microsoft announced the availability of 'Gunstar Heroes,' 'Garou: Mark of the Wolves,' 'Sonic the Fighters,' 'Duke Nukem Manhattan Project,' 'Outland,' 'Doom 3 BFG Edition' and 'Monaco.'

'Doom 3,' however, will only be available on disc and that means players need to find it in the store or download it online. They can also play the original game and the sequel, which come along with the 'Doom 3 BFG Edition.'

This edition also promises better sound effects and graphics, along with more expansion packs.

Sadly for 'COD' fans, the April update on Xbox One backwards compatible list does not include 'Call of Duty: Black Ops.'

"Reports have linked Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 to a launch via Backward Compatibility but that wouldn't be until the release of Infinity Ward's new Call of Duty title in November - if it proves true," said UK's Express.

For the uniniated, there is no additional cost to avail of the Xbox One backwards compatible games list as gamers do not have to pay to play the games they already own. They can also keep their achievements or saved games, and it works both on digital and discs.

According to Microsoft, the backward compatibility game catalog can be seen in the Ready to Install section of Xbox One.

"For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive," it said. "After the game has downloaded to your hard drive, users will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play."
