Jackson faces 24 years to a lifetime in federal prison depending on the court's decision, which is set to be released on October 3.
According to investigators, Devitt died of blood loss after Jackson's four pit bulls bit her 200 times leaving her with deep wounds that revealed her bones.
Reports indicated that the victim was dragged by the vicious animals about 50 yards from the scene. She was later found with a missing arm and a torn scalp.
The 63-year-old woman was on her regular morning walk around town on May 9 last year when the four pit bulls attacked her.
According to prosecutors, the dogs' owner knew that his pets could endanger someone's life making him fully responsible for the animals' actions.
Jackson's dogs were also involved in seven other attacks during an 18-month period prior to Devitt's death.
Some horseback riders claimed that they have also been chased, attacked or bitten by the pit bulls while a mailman testified in court that he was not able to deliver Jackson's mails for fear of the dogs.
The Associated Press reported on Friday that residents around Little Rock have often encountered similar problems where they are confronted with several packs of dogs.
Jackson's lawyer, Al Kim, said that his client was receiving a brunt from the town's growing frustration over the dilemma of stray dogs.
"My client is going to prison for a significant amount of time, possibly the rest of his life. Yet what happens to animal control?" Kim stated.
Vincent Jackson, the suspect's brother, claimed that the town's people are making an example of him citing that his brother had accepted that he is partially responsible on Devitt's death as he wrote a letter to Ben Devitt, the victim's husband. However, the letter was not actually sent to the intended recipient.
