Lionsgate has roped in Jon Chu again to direct the third film in the Now You See Me series, Variety reported.

The news comes two months before the release of the heist thriller franchise's second installment, Now You See Me: The Second Act, which was also helmed by Chu, who took over the reigns from Louise Leterrier after the first film.

Not long after wrapping up production of the second installment, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced in May 2015 that the studio had already started planning a third Now You See Me film, but did not specify any details of the project.

At the time, Feltheimer also estimated that the sequel would rake in more than the $350 million in collections earned by the original 2013 film, which followed the Four Horsemen, a team of magicians who pull off a series of heists using magic and illusion.

There's no doubt that Chu will do justice to the project, having directed films such as G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Step Up 2: The Streets and the more recent Jen and the Holograms.

Produced by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Bobby Cohen, Now You See Me 3 does not have an official release date yet.

Now You See Me 2 will see the return of the original cast including Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine with the exception of Isla Fisher, who was replaced by Lizzy Caplan in the film, who will accompany Daniel Radcliffe as new additions to the cast.

Now You See Me 2 is slated to hit theaters on June 10.
