Actress Angelina Jolie once said that she would have married her former girlfriend, model-actress Jenny Shimizu, if hadn't instead tied the knot with her first husband, "Elementary" actor Jonny Lee Miller.

Although Jolie and Shimizu weren't fated to wed, the two have found life-long partners of their own. Jolie recently wed her longtime partner, actor Brad Pitt, while Shimizu has just gotten engaged to her girlfriend, brand consultant Michelle Harper.

Shimizu and Jolie met on the set of Firefox and, Jolie revealed in a 1997 interview with Girlfriend magazine, ""I fell in love with her the first second I saw her."

The love story of Shimizu and Harper, on the other hand, began when the two met at a party hosted by model Karen Elson. 

Shimizu gushed about her future wife, saying, "I didn't believe it myself until I saw it. It's like so many things about her. There are these misconceptions and generalizations that don't fit this person who is full of spirit and down-to-earthiness."

Harper, who was once in a relationship with director Daniel Leeb, and Shimizu posed for a bridal shoot last June which is set to appear in Vogue magazine.

Aside from Jolie, Shimizu also admitted to have had an affair with singer Madonna.

Jolie, on the other hand, is still on cloud nine after having just exchanged vows with Pitt at their French chateau over the weekend.

The actress, who is now wearing a wedding ring, is currently in Malta with her daughters, Vivienne and Shiloh, to shoot for the flick "By The Sea". Pitt will also be starring in the said movie.

As Jolie went back to work, her sons Pax and Maddox were also spotted nearby surfboarding while a supervisor watched them.

While Jolie was filming, Pitt made a photocall for his movie "Fury" in Dorset, England. Pitt was also spotted wearing his wedding ring.
