Microsoft Ceases Xbox 360; Xbox One Upgraded Version Expected to be Unveiled at E3 2016

Xbox chief Phil Spencer announced on Wednesday that Xbox 360's system production has officially come to an end.

Xbox 360, which turned 10 years-old in November 2015, may have been ceased, but existing consoles in consumer market will still be sold until supplies ran out. In addition, users of Xbox 360 may still continue to access Xbox Live services, and they can still be able to purchase games through Xbox 360 online stores.

According to Mashable, Xbox Live services that Xbox 360 users' can still access includes Deals with Gold, Games with Gold, online multiplayer gaming, and any current apps to their boxes.

The news came amidst rumors that the American multinational company, Microsoft, is prepping up to release two versions of Xbox Two in June, Yibada reported. Other rumors, however, points out that there is a possibility that the company may just release an upgraded Xbox One instead.

It is said that Microsoft has been testing numerous Xbox prototypes, where some of these prototypes has upgraded components used to enhance PC gaming performance, The Verge reported. Although no further information was given about the upgraded Xbox prototypes, reports suggested that the so-called upgraded Xbox One will have faster CPU, will feature improved RAM and powerful video card.

Moreover, rumors has it that the said upgraded Xbox One, which is rumored to go against PlayStation 4.5, codenamed "NEO," is expected to be unveiled during Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which will be held on June 14 - June 16 in Los Angeles Convention Center.
