Three years after Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston finds himself on the other side of the drug war in The Infiltrator.

The film's first trailer just dropped and it shows Cranston, who played chemistry teacher-turned-drug-lord, Walter White, on the hit AMC series, portraying the character of DEA agent Robert Mazur, who goes undercover to infiltrate Pablo Escobar's drug empire in the 1980s and pull off one the biggest drug busts in history.

The trailer kicks off with Cranston's wife in the film, played by Juliet Aubrey, telling him, "Promise me this is the last one," before he goes undercover as "Bob Musella" along with his "nuts" partner (John Leguizamo) and undercover fiancée (Diane Kruger).

Through his sting operation, Cranston earns the trust of Escobar's top lietenant Roberto Alcaino (Benjamin Bratt) and gathers evidence against dozens of drug lords and their corrupt bankers, which ultimately led to the collapse of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, one of the largest money-laundering banks in the world.

"Mazur had this belief that the way to bring down the drug cartels was not by chasing the drugs," the film's director Brad Furman told Entertainment Weekly. "But instead by chasing the money. So he literally went undercover as a money launderer and pulled this string that blew open a gaping, volcanic hole. And that hole went as deep as Pablo Escobar."

The film, inspired by true events, has been written by Ellen Brown Furman and adapted from the real Robert Mazur's autobiography of the same name.

The drug drama, which also stars Yul Vazquez and Amy Ryan, is slated to hit theaters on July 15.
