Pamela Anderson has officially joined the star-studded cast of the upcoming Baywatch movie.

The actress and model, who famously played the role of C.J. Parker on the hit 90s show, will feature in the film adaptation of the series. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson announced the news via an Instagram post on Thursday.

"She introduced the world to 'CJ Parker' and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation - for the most successful TV show of all time," he wrote alongside a picture of himself and the 48-year-old actress. "A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #Baywatch cast. We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!"

The Barb Wire star played the iconic character on the original from 1992 through 1997. Details about Anderson's character in the upcoming film are not yet known, but one thing's for sure; she will not be reprising her role, given that model Kelly Rohrbach has been signed on to play Parker in the film.

Last month, Johnson announced that David Hasselhoff, who played lifeguard Mitch Buchannon on the television show, had joined the cast of the film, which also stars Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Ilfenesh Hadera, Hannibal Buress and Charlotte McKinney.

Johnson and Dany Garcia are producing the film under their Seven Bucks Productions banner along with Beau Flynn and Ivan Reitman as well as Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Greg Bonann. Seth Gordon is at the helm of the project, which was written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.

Baywatch is slated to hit theaters on May 19, 2017.
