Good For You singer Selena Gomez has cancelled her two concert tours in Guangzhou and Shanghai this year after being allegedly banned by the Chinese government because of her association with the Dalai Lama, media reports said.
Gomez was expected to perform in two Chinese cities this year as part of her Revival Tour, but it seems that is no longer bound to happen as promotions for the concert have already been pulled out of her official website.

According to the Master Herald, the Chinese government decided to ban Gomez because she had a meeting with the Tibetan spiritual leader, who has long been in conflict with Chinese officials. Gomez met the Dalai Lama in 2014 during a youth empowerment project called "We Day" in Vancouver, Canada.
After the event, Selena posted a photo on Twitter, captioning it "words of wisdom. #speechless." Reports said the government based the ban on that post. The photo can no longer be found on the singer's social media pages.
If the rumors are true, this is not the first time an artist was banned from the country for establishing connections with the exiled spiritual leader.
Last year, Bon Jovi's Shanghai and Beijing concerts were also cancelled by Chinese officials "for appearing to show support to the Dalai Lama or Tibetan independence." Maroon 5 was also banned after one of its band members greeted the Dalai Lama on his birthday on Twitter.
