Spotify is facing a potential security breach when a list with hundreds of Spotify account credentials appeared in the website Pastebin.
Hundreds of account credentials were posted on Pastebin on April 23. The sensitive information reportedly includes email addresses, usernames, passwords, account types (family, premium), and more. The list of accounts is not limited to the U.S., but includes a number of users from all over the world.

However, Spotify has insisted that no such security breach has happened. The music streaming company sent a statement to multiple publications. These publications have received responses from over half a dozen individuals whose emails were posted, and multiple report suspicious activity.
Users said they have seen out-of-place songs being added to their saved lists or showing as “recently played,” playlists deleted, or their account being used elsewhere. Others still were kicked out of the streamer or received a password reset notification.
“Spotify has not been hacked and our user records are secure. We monitor Pastebin and other sites regularly. When we find Spotify credentials, we first verify that they are authentic, and if they are, we immediately notify affected users to change their password,” Spotify said in a statement.
Lots of reports from Spotify users have surfaced online saying that their accounts were hacked. Some took the news to Twitter, adding that they were locked out from their own account. Other users were not able to log back in, which indicates that their account passwords or email addresses had been changed.
Previously, Spotify also experienced security incidents. The emails and accounts could have been a part of the previous list of compromised accounts that are still circulating.
To resolve the matter, users said they have had to work with Spotify customer service to get their account access restored.
