Contestant #15 Veronica Shiu, a favorite among the 16 beauty queen aspirants, won the Miss Hong Kong 2014 title and was also chosen for the Miss Photogenic and Miss Friendship awards during the pageant's finals held last August 31, Sunday.

Veronica Shiu, whom 'Black Heart White Soul' star Kristal Tin has chosen as one of her personal favorites, is crowned Miss Hong Kong 2014, garnering over 156,000 votes.

The 24-year old student won first runner-up during the Miss Chinese Vancouver pageant in 2012. Veronica Shiu is said to have dreamt of becoming a performer. Additionally, she enjoys keeping herself fit through jogging, yoga and other exercises.

The new beauty queen has impressed the judges during the finals event with a dance performance and elegance in the way she moved. When she was asked what she has learned from joining the Miss Hong Kong 2014 pageant, she said that her speaking skills in Cantonese improves, and that she has learned how to be more poised when standing on stage.

Contestant #15 Veronica Shiu is 5-foot 5-inches tall, weighs 112 lbs and has vital statistics of 34-24.5-35 inches.

On the other hand, Contestant #9 Erin Wong has established herself on the first runner-up position after gaining 28,894 votes. She has expressed that she was rather surprised when the results came out. It seems like she was not expecting to end up in the second place. Despite that, she has also stated that she remained calm and confident during the pageant.

Contestant #9 Erin Wong is 23 years old, standing 5 feet and 6 inches tall yet weighing only 96 lbs. She enjoys dancing as well as singing, travelling and cooking.

Finally, on the second runner-up place is Contestant #7 Katherine Ho, who has earned a total of 24,903 votes. She has nabbed the third spot in the pageant by impressing the judges with her intelligence and poise during the question-and-answer segment.

The beauty queen aspirant had been plagued with rumors regarding her very active social lifestyle, but she has set the matter aside by answering well and standing elegantly on stage.

Katherine Ho is happy with the results, saying that she has shared her experience with her mother who had been with her, supporting her through out the pageant.
