Lava's Poster released by Pixar Animation Studios

Pixar has been creating timeless tales of love and hope for all ages, for many years alongside Walt Disney Pictures. Sometimes, viewers are fortunate to be able to watch a short Pixar film set as an introduction for the actual movie they paid for. Among these, many short films are Partly Cloudy, which was released with Up, in 2009, Day & Night, shown before Toy Story 3, back in 2010, and The Blue Umbrella, which paved the way for Monsters University, just last year.

Pixar announced the release of their 2015 installment, Inside Out, which features the voices of Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, and Lewis Black.

Along the release of Inside Out is the publicity of a new short film called Lava, which will grace theaters on June 19, 2015.

Lava's director, James Ford Murphy, and producer Andrea Warren, created the short film, out of the inspiring remote beauty of tropical islands. A love story - musical set on an ocean volcano they have named Uku.

The whole film is said to be narrated through a song, which was inspired by the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. "I thought that if I could marry the rich imagery and with the power and emotion of music, then I could really make something cool", Murphy told Yahoo.

Pixar have always been consistent with how they tell their romance stories, and fans are ready to have their hearts melted by this Pixar installment. Uku's love interest was said to be called Lele, a mountain across the sea.

"I thought It would be so cool to fall in love with a place who's also a character", Murphy told the Lost Angeles Times.
