Chinese representatives for the Summer Olympic Games are now in Brazil four months earlier for the Olympic Test events, but it seems their skills are not the only thing being tested in the Latin American country.
Local media reported that Chinese fencers, who were busy at the Rio Fencing Grand Prix, one of the test events, were robbed at the Copacabana beach over the weekend. A group of fencers were on their way to their hotel after grocery shopping when they were approached by three to four Brazilian teenagers.

One teen tried to snatch Xu Anqi's necklace, the world's top épée fencer, but failed as Xu held on to her necklace until her teammates and coach helped her. The criminals fled away immediately.
"I came to Rio for several times in recent years because the Grand Prix is held there. I'm familiar with Rio but this time I feel a bit afraid after being robbed," Xu said.
Xu won a silver medal during the women's épée individual event on Saturday.
Meanwhile, two Chinese shooters said that their credit cards were being charged by unauthorized payments. It is unclear if their credit cards were stolen.
Brazil is expecting around 500,000 tourists and athletes during the Olympics. The government will deploy at least 85,000 security agents, with 38,000 of them coming from Brazil's military forces. This two times more than security guards at the London Olympic Games.
