Melissa Rivers, Joan Rivers' only child, shared that she is keeping her "fingers crossed" as there is concern that the comedian's motor skills might be impaired after a botched throat procedure left her with cardiac and respiratory arrest.
As Rivers is being brought out of a medically induced coma, a source shared that the family is considering taking legal action on Yorkville Endoscopy, where Rivers had a routine throat procedure done.

A source shared that the family is "looking for someone to blame."
"The waking-up process has begun and will take until Tuesday. There is real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised, leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair," a source close to the family shared.
The source shared that the throat procedure should not have been done on an 81-year old as an outpatient. The family believes that the health center is to blame.
Meanwhile, as Melissa Rivers is trying to be upbeat and optimistic about her mother's condition in public, sources say that she is "totally hysterical and is at a loss for what to do (because) they won't know the extent of the damage until Tuesday at the earliest."
Insiders say that Rivers would not have wanted to "be a burden on anyone" and, preferred not to live if the possibility of "a full and active life" was gone.
The "Fashion Police" had undergone a procedure on her vocal chords last Thursday, which caused her to go into cardiac and respiratory arrest.
Doctors thought it best to put the comedian in a medically induced coma in order to stabilize her vital signs, A respiratory machine has been helping her breathe.
Writer-producer talked about Rivers, his friend for over 40 years, sharing, "You know how polarizing she could be, but people don't realize what a fantastic lady she is, the charities that she supports, without fanfare, without people knowing. She is a great person."
