A 10-year old boy living on the eighth floor of a Guizhou building was so annoyed by the construction racket outside his window, he cut the lifeline of the worker's electric drill and the security lights outside the building. The boy apparently felt the noise was disrupting his cartoon-viewing.

The horrified worker, Liu Mai, upon noticing that his safety line was shaking, looked up and saw the boy, Tang Chu slicing through his line with a knife.
Liu Mai begged for his life, but the boy took no heed and ignored him.
"I was petrified. I thought I was sure to fall, but the boy just stood and watched me," he shared.
The worker immediately called his co-workers for help. His co-workers, who reciprocated called the local fire department for immediate assistance.
Despite the expeditious response, the firefighters had a hard time accessing the building to enable them to reach the worker since no one was answering on the eighth floor.
Luckily, Liu Mai, who was clinging to the wall for 40 minutes was eventually brought down uninjured.
Police officials confronted the boy, but he initially denied that he had caused the incident. However, after much pressure and prodding, the boy eventually admitted his wrongdoing.
"The sound of drilling outside was noisy while I was watching cartoons, so I cut the rope with a knife," the boy admitted.
A spokesperson for the fire department explained that the incident could have ended very badly. The spokesperson believed that the boy didn't think about the consequences of his actions, but was merely irked by the fact that he couldn't watch his cartoons properly.
The boy has apologized for what he did. His father, Tang Peng, said, "We have apologised and bought the man a new rope. We also talked to our son and explained what he did was very dangerous."
Tang Peng said, his son promised not to do it again. But still they are planning to bring him to a therapist for anger management.
