Halo Channel and Halo: Nightfall gave fans a big treat at the PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) Prime gaming convention in Seattle, Washington

343 Industries, the game developer behind Halo, revealed some details about the channel and the live action series at the recent gaming convention.

It said their upcoming live-action Halo series takes place on a fragment from the Alpha Ring, an intergalactic location from the original "Halo: Combat Evolved" sci-fi shooter game.

It was shot in Iceland and is set between Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians.

Originally, Alpha Ring was destroyed at the end of the Halo by series' protagonist Master Chief.

Halo: Nightfall focuses on the Jameson Locke, a character played by Mike Colter. Locke will be a playable character in Halo 5.

The Halo TV series will be produced by Steven Spielberg. It is set to release in 2015 exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox One.

Meanwhile, the Halo Channel will also showcase competitive e-sports matches, documentaries, trivia sections, additional shows via third parties and the animated Halo short Headhunters.

The channel will also feature a Twitch integration and let users watch live streams and even broadcast their own gaming sessions.

343 Industries also brought some teasers for "Halo: The Master Chief collection" that will bring the previous Halo installments to the Xbox One console.

Halo Channel and "Halo: The Master Chief collection" will launch on November 11.

They will be available on Xbox One and Windows 8.1 devices. On a later date, it will also hit Windows Phone. 8.1.
