As viewers close in on the season finale of "Empire" Season 2, more hints are being dropped about Lucious' family history. The whole Lyon clan has been in an emotional rollercoaster ride in the past few episodes, and all paths lead to Lucious reuniting with his estranged mother and brother in the highly-awaited season finale.

The synopsis for "The Lyon Who Cried Wolf" hints that Andre has discovered Lucious' dark secret-that his mother had been alive all along. The episode 16 trailer shows a teary-eyed Lucious who comes face to face with his mother. Lucious' mother, Leah Walker, tries to touch his face, but he backs away and later warns Andre, "You have no idea what you've done."

The brief trailer also shows a scene with Hakeem and Tiana. In the previous episode, Hakeem just recently learned that he is the father of the child Anika is carrying. Naturally, this sets Hakeem and Laura's engagement off course and they decide to break up, but shortly get back together. Hakeem and Tiana's latest encounter might add an interesting twist to the young ones love story.

The thing about Anika and Hakeem's pregnancy is that it has intensified tension in the Lyon household. However, Anika's health scare in episode 15 shows that they probably have grown more accepting of the situation.

"Empire" showrunner Ilene Chaiken told Variety that Anika is trying to make peace with her circumstance and embracing a renewed relationship with the Lyons. There's a possibility that things could work out better for poor Anika.

Jamal is also seen in a steamy hook up with someone in the Empire studio, although there are no clues as to who this might be. There's a good chance it could be Michael, a former lover who has made a comeback in Jamal's life. Chaiken teased that although viewers might not see as much Jamal-Michael action as they hoped, it won't be the last for the twosome.

Meanwhile, Rhonda continues to uncover who her attacker was and she may have a lead. In an interview with TV Line, actress Kaitlin Doubleday revealed that Rhonda's confrontation with her attacker is "very dynamic, scary, insane [and] crazy."

While everyone's initial guess was Anika, Doubleday teases that it doesn't seem likely.

"There were a good five episodes we shot that I didn't know who pushed me," Doubleday said about the big mystery. "Then they [settled] on somebody [and] that's when she finally realizes, 'OK, it was this person.'"

Episode 16 of "Empire" Season 2 will air on May 4, Wednesday.
