Apple, Inc. has faced-up to the embarrassing problem brought on by hackers penetrating its iCloud service and leaking erotic photos of dozens of female American celebrities.
Web magazine Engadget said the glitch was caused by Apple's Find My iPhone software.
Apple seems to have resolved issue a few hours after an unknown hacker or hackers leaked semi-nude and nude photos of celebrities including Kate Upton, Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande, Kirsten Dunst, Victoria Justice, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Lawrence, Upton and Winstead acknowledged their photos has been hacked while Grande and Justice said on Twitter their nude photos online are fakes.
"We take user privacy very seriously and are actively investigating this report," said Nat Kerris, a spokeswoman from Apple. Karris didn't provide additional details as to what exactly Apple did, however.
Hackers discovered the Find My iPhone login page vulnerable to "brute force" attacks. It's a method in which hackers repeatedly try different keywords to gain full access to an iClpoud account.
Reports said Apple doesn't have an automatic lock out for users that enter multiple passwords.
Security analysts said this isn't the first time iCloud has been hacked.
"If this was the tool used, the hackers would have needed email addresses of celebrities. But it's possible that only one address is needed, allowing (hackers) to search inboxes for those of others in a domino effect," Engadget said.
