Eleven-time NBA All-Star Chris Bosh will be out for the remainder of the postseason regardless of how far Miami Heat may reach in the 2015-16 NBA season, Bosh and the Micky Arison-owned team announced in a joint statement on Wednesday.
The third-seeded Eastern Conference club and 32-year-old Bosh issued the formal statement to put an end to speculations that the 12-year veteran forward would try to return to the hardwood during the playoffs. The joint statement came one day following the National Basketball Players Association called on Bosh and the team to resolve any issues they have about his immediate future.

"The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh announce that Chris will not be playing in the remainder of the 2016 NBA Playoffs," read the statement. "The Heat, Chris, the doctors and medical team have been working together throughout this process and will continue to do so to return Chris to playing basketball as soon as possible."
Bosh has been sidelined since the All-Star break after being diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in the leg). It is the second straight year that the former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets hotshot's season ended at the break due to problems with blood clotting.
Bosh is expected to remain with the team throughout the rest of the playoffs - helping the Heat, however, he can. Miami currently leads Toronto 1-0 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Bosh is the 2003 NBA draft 4th overall pick selected by the Toronto Raptors. After playing for seven years for Toronto, he moved to the Miami Heat in 2010 along with LeBron James and won two NBA championship titles.
The current highest-paid player of the Heat (US$ 22,192,730.00 per season) is averaging 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in the regular season.
