Five straight China top flight champions Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC nipped lowly club Hangzhou Greentown FC, 2-1, at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center on Sunday as the 2016 Chinese Super League season moves forward.
Guangzhou's two imports, Brazilians Alan Carvalho and Ricardo Goulart, shone the brightest during the team's seventh consecutive win as they scored one goal apiece in the hard-fought match.

The Southern China Tigers' 26-year-old striker Carvalho scored the opening goal of the contest right at the seventh minute off an assist by local defender Rong Hao. The 24-year-old Goulart then doubled the lead at the 31st also from an assist by Rong to give the visitors a huge 2-0 lead at the break, via Soccerway.
Hangzhou was able to score a consolation goal at the 76th minute with a strike from Australian forward Tim Cahill, who only scored his second goal for the Green Giants since he was acquired by the team from Shanghai Shenhua before the season started.
Cahill finally ended a string of six goalless games after scoring his first during his team's opening day victory over Changchun Yatai.
The win kept head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's team at the top of the current league table, only one point ahead of second-running squad Jiangsu Suning as the latter also won its matchday 8 fixture over Beijing Guoan with an identical score, as reported by Cri English.
The win also extended Guangzhou's winning streak to seven games as they had not tasted a defeat or a draw since their opening day 1-2 loss to Chongqing Lifan.
As for Hangzhou, the team settled at the 12th spot of the league table as it suffered its second consecutive loss and also extended its winless slide to five games with their last win coming back on April 1st, a 2-0 victory over reeling powerhouse Shandong Luneng.
Meanwhile, Ghana Soccernet reported that the Tigers' Jackson Martinez could be transferred to AC Milan for free if Guangzhou Evergrande co-owner Jack Ma pushes through with the purchase of the said Serie A squad anytime soon.
Martinez has not played in Guangzhou's last three fixtures, which could be an indication that the rumors are true.
